As the first haircutter to offer Unlimited Haircut Memberships, we’ve been pretty quiet about what happens behind the curtain. With an upcoming change to our membership model though, we wanted to share a bit more of the why.
Josh and I have been best friends since 6th grade and started Keep It Cut with simple goals:
- Value through haircut memberships
- Quality haircuts
- Treat staff generously
- Build a business that could sustain the other goals
For eight years things worked well, then COVID forced a reset.
After reopening, we moved from same-day waitlists to appointments to serve the backlog of members. While this improved the client and staff experience, it also reduced efficiency. Even with recent price increases, rising costs and lower efficiency have caught up to the model.
Our recent analysis shows that:
- 85% of members use their membership in line with our pricing.
- 15% use it far more frequently, beyond what the model can support.
To keep things fair and sustainable, we’re introducing three membership tiers in 2026:
- Unlimited
- Still available (priced for heavier usage)
- Classic
- Up to 3 Standard Haircuts or 4 Skin Fade Haircuts per month (depending on membership type)
- Happy Hour
- Same as Classic at a lower price (limited to Mon–Wed)

When your membership renews in March, we will move you to this membership. If you’d prefer a different option, feel free to reply and let us know—we’re happy to adjust.
