Keep It Cut National Doughnut Day
Get a Haircut – and a FREE Doughnut
Call it a dunker or a cruller. Spell it with a “u-g-h” or not. Everyone still loves the doughnut, including us! On Friday, June 3, 2016 we’re giving away FREE doughnuts to everyone who gets a haircut that day. It’s our way of celebrating National Doughnut Day.
In case you didn’t know: National Doughnut Day was started in 1938 to honor the role of the Salvation Army that served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. Salvation Army volunteers (mostly women) were known as Doughnut Dollies and often prepared these fried comfort foods in soldiers’ metal helmets. It’s how they colloquially came to be known as Doughboys.
Whether you choose to get a buzz cut in honor of Doughboy soldiers, a monk’s cut to resemble a donut, or just take a little off the sides, when you’re done, you’ll get a doughnut for the road.
