In 1935, Helen Brinton purchased the first home built in Ahwatukee (a Phoenix neighborhood on the south side of South Mtn) from
Dentist Dr. Ames. She named it Ahwatukee (Ah-wa-too-kee), a Crow Indian word that is debated meaning either
‘House of Dreams’ or “Land on the Other Side of the Hill”. We welcome you to our house of
dreams on the other side of the hill, Keep It Cut, at 40th Street and Chandler Boulevard,
located in the Trader Joe’s / Safeway parking lot right next to McDonald’s.
